Can the Hawks sweep Edinboro for their last regular season home game? Crimson Hawks basketball encourages all fans to come show their Crimson Hawks spirit and support the first responder emergency men and women at Saturday’s game, February 22 at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (KCAC). The women’s game kicks-off at 5:30pm, followed by the men’s game at 7:30pm.
The last home game of the season against Edinboro will recognize all of Indiana County’s men and women police, paramedics, nurses, doctors and fire fighters that risk their lives every day to keep our community safe and healthy. Crimson Hawks fans can help support the county’s first responders by using the promotional code “BLUE” when purchasing their tickets. Five dollars from every $10 courtside ticket purchased with the code will go back to the Indiana County Health & Human Services Subcommittee (HHSS) of the Indiana County Emergency Management Agency. To support the HHSS and the first responders you may purchase your tickets online at www.kovalchickcomplex.com or in-person at the KCAC Box Office, using the promotional code “BLUE”.
The HHSS educates and assists residents during an emergency or disaster. Always on their toes, the HHSS is constantly preparing county residents through educational programs and events throughout the year, as well as improving their emergency plans for different types of emergencies and disasters with the help of county men and women first responders.
Danny Sacco, Chair of HHSS stated, “We are pleased that those who are the boots on the ground will be recognized at the IUP Basketball game and that the HHSS will be given the opportunity to benefit from the ticket sales. The first responders are critical to caring for our residents and are on call 24-7 to make sure everyone in Indiana County are safe.”
The community will also have the opportunity to see a variety of emergency vehicles and equipment up-close parked outside of the KCAC, as well as meet the first responders of Indiana County throughout the evening. Tables inside the KCAC lobby will provide a way for the first responders to distribute very important information to residents and their families, including children activities educating them on the importance of safety and what to do in case of an emergency.
